A road to infinity.

Maria Milici's creative research blends the mystery of the universe with myth. For the artist, there is no difference whether it is an oil painting or an eclectic jewel-sculpture.
The artist explores cosmic frequencies, galaxies and everything greater than us as if searching for a path towards the indefinite and answers to humanity's great questions.
Maria Milici's favourite colours are bold and unyielding, refusing to be overshadowed by sweet and visually appealing hues. They are metallic variations that fade into gold and shimmer with astral dust. They are vibrant colours that dazzle with combinations devoid of complacency.

Cold and astral, with a bright explosion, Milici's colours follow the path of his themes, magnifying the subjects for the mystery they embody in scientific and fantastical space imagery, which is halfway between science fiction and new possibilities for expansion. The idea of a superior being who can do and move anything, and the ancient myth of omnipotence and indifference towards us finite earthly creatures, is the inspiration behind Maria Milici's work.

We do not know of a motorway to the afterlife, but we like to think that it exists so that, once we have become intangible beings, we can race along it, travelling between planets, galaxies and horizons that were previously forbidden to us because of our physical nature.

Perhaps this is what drives artists to try to reproduce a fantastical, otherworldly realm here on Earth, as if attempting to become hypergalactic, breathing cosmic air. But in the meantime, we are here, gazing up at the sky and its stars, which is often the most comforting sight of all.
